Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) to conduct criminal history checks on anyone serving as an official at school sports events. Officials must provide their information and consent for the check, which will be coordinated by the Commissioner of Education and conducted by the State Bureau of Identification. Individuals with criminal records meeting specific criteria will be disqualified from serving as officials.
