Overview
This bill provides supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year 2024 to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). It establishes a new, nonlapsing fund called the ‘Drinking Water Emergency Response Fund’ to support emergency response efforts related to drinking water contamination. The bill allocates $6.85 million from the General Fund to various divisions of the DEP, including the Forest Resource Management, Parks Management, Water Supply, and Land Use Regulation programs, as well as funding for a volunteer coordinator at the New Jersey Natural Lands Trust.
