Overview
This bill requires paint producers in New Jersey to either implement or participate in a paint stewardship program. The program aims to address the lack of convenient and environmentally sound disposal options for leftover architectural paint, which currently burdens local governments. Producers will be responsible for planning and managing a system to collect, reuse, recycle, transport, and dispose of post-consumer paint, aligning with the federal waste management hierarchy.
