Overview
This bill requires that plastic construction materials used in New Jersey’s state-funded construction projects contain a minimum amount of postconsumer recycled content. Starting one year after the law’s enactment, projects must use plastic materials with at least 10% postconsumer recycled content, increasing to 15% after two years. The bill includes exemptions if using these materials would significantly increase project costs or if suitable materials are unavailable.
