Overview
This bill requires artificial intelligence data centers and cryptocurrency mining facilities in New Jersey to use a detailed energy usage plan. All electricity supplied to these facilities must come from new, verifiable renewable energy sources, nuclear power, or a combination of both. The bill also directs the Board of Public Utilities to monitor similar regulations in other PJM region states and report findings. This aims to reduce the strain on the electric grid and promote clean energy use.
