Bill overview
This bill changes how nonemergency medical transportation is regulated in Nevada. It moves authority from the Nevada Transportation Authority to district boards of health in larger counties and the Division of Public and Behavioral Health in other counties. Private providers will no longer need a certificate or permit from the Transportation Authority, but instead must obtain a permit from the relevant health authority. The bill also includes provisions regarding reporting of abuse and neglect by drivers of these vehicles, and clarifies exemptions for governmental entities.
