Bill overview
This bill revises the testing requirements for police officers, firefighters, and arson investigators regarding industrial insurance. Specifically, it shortens the timeframe for tuberculosis testing to 30 days after termination, instead of the current 3-month and time-of-termination intervals. It also updates the timeframe for testing for other contagious diseases to 30 days and not less than 4 months after termination, aligning with the most recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, or the American Medical Association. Furthermore, the bill mandates that all blood tests and other relevant tests for hepatitis and other associated diseases be based on these current recommendations.
