Bill overview
This bill amends Nevada regulations governing public utilities that provide water or sewage disposal services. It expands the criteria for simplified rate changes, increasing the number of customers a utility can serve before needing to file a detailed application. Specifically, it lowers the customer threshold from 3,000 to 4,000 and the gross sales threshold from $2 million to $4 million. The bill also allows utilities, other than small-scale providers, to submit letters of advice for rate changes if the proposed change doesn't alter rates or increase annual operating revenue by more than $100,000, and it maintains the existing simplified procedures for small-scale providers.
