Overview
This bill establishes the ‘Children’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting Act’ to create a system for reporting adverse reactions to vaccines in children under 19. Healthcare providers are required to report any adverse events experienced by a child within eight weeks of vaccination, regardless of whether they believe the vaccine caused the reaction. The system will collect and maintain this data, share it with public health entities (while protecting patient privacy), and report it to the federal Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).
