Overview
This bill proposes to shift the administration of programs for individuals with developmental disabilities from the Department of Human Services (DHS) to the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Specifically, it will transfer the responsibility for determining eligibility and providing support and services to individuals aged 21-29 to the Division of Children’s System of Care within DCF. The bill delays the transition age from 21 to 30, allowing individuals to remain under the care of the Division of Developmental Disabilities until age 30, with a plan for a smooth transition to adult services.
