Overview
This bill requires courts in New Jersey to impose monetary bail for carjacking offenses and mandates that juvenile defendants charged with carjacking, who are 15 years or older, be tried as adults. Specifically, bail amounts will be at least equal to the value of the stolen vehicle, and for cases involving eluding a law enforcement officer, bail will be double that amount.
