Overview
This bill would allow employees of the State and certain local governments to work on Good Friday in exchange for receiving alternate religious holiday leave during the same calendar year. The bill directs the Civil Service Commission to create a list of acceptable religious holidays for this exchange, based on existing state guidelines. It also establishes procedures for employees to request and utilize this alternative leave.
