Overview
This bill requires New Jersey counties to create a ‘property alert service’ that notifies property owners when certain documents affecting their property – like liens or deeds – are recorded. Property owners can choose to participate by providing their mailing address or email. Counties can charge a small annual fee for this service, and the Commissioner of Community Affairs will create the rules for how it operates. The law will take effect five months after it’s passed.
