Overview
The Fairness in Women's Sports Act seeks to ensure that school-sponsored sports teams are designated based on biological sex at birth. It prohibits male students from participating on teams designated for females, and establishes a process for determining a student’s sex if it’s disputed, relying on medical documentation. The bill also protects schools and institutions from penalties for maintaining separate teams and allows individuals harmed by a violation to seek legal remedies.
