Overview
This bill requires that at least one member of the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) reside in each of the state’s three regions – northern, central, and southern – when appointed. It defines these regions based on county boundaries and mandates that the Governor ensure geographic representation during each appointment after the bill’s effective date. The bill amends existing law to establish this residency requirement for BPU members.
