Overview
This bill makes it a crime to harbor an alien who has outstanding warrants and is unlawfully present in the United States. It expands the existing law prohibiting hindering apprehension or prosecution to specifically include harboring individuals with outstanding warrants and immigration warrants. Individuals who harbor or obstruct the apprehension or deportation of these aliens, with knowledge of the warrants, could face criminal charges. The bill also addresses hindering one’s own apprehension and provides an affirmative defense for victims of human trafficking.
