Overview
This bill creates a new disorderly persons offense for dog owners in New Jersey. If a dog injures someone in the owner’s presence, the owner must remain at the scene and provide contact information to the injured person. Failure to do so will result in a fine of at least $500 or up to six months in jail, or both.
