Overview
This bill would allow New Jersey law enforcement officers to receive one-time emergency alerts on their personal wireless devices, such as cell phones and laptops. The alerts would notify officers of emergencies threatening public safety. Importantly, the information contained within these alerts would be stored on a secure server and not accessible to the officers on their personal devices after the alert expires, and would not be considered a public record.
