Overview
This bill creates a new crime in New Jersey called ‘gang assault.’ It defines this crime as intentionally causing bodily injury to another person when assisted by two or more other people who are present. The injury can be inflicted on the initial target or on a third person. A third-degree crime under this legislation carries a potential penalty of three to five years in prison, a fine up to $15,000, or both.
