Overview
This bill limits the amount of time an individual can serve as a county prosecutor in an acting capacity to one year. It applies to both current acting prosecutors and any pending nominees for the position. If a person serving in an acting capacity hasn't been formally nominated to the Senate within a year, they must vacate the position at the end of that year. The bill also requires the Governor to nominate acting prosecutors within 30 days of the bill’s effective date or the next Senate session if they haven’t already been nominated.
