Overview
This bill requires automatic voter registration to be offered when individuals apply for certain licenses and permits in New Jersey, including hunting, fishing, and boating licenses, as well as firearms permits. Agencies like the NJMVC, Division of Fish and Wildlife, and local police forces would be responsible for collecting voter registration information and transmitting it to the Secretary of State. Applicants will have the option to decline automatic registration. The bill amends existing laws to align with the NJMVC’s current automatic voter registration process.
