Overview
This bill extends eligibility for certain gross income tax exemptions in New Jersey to include all veterans of the Uniformed Services of the United States, including the National Guard and NOAA/USPHS personnel. Currently, veterans released under honorable circumstances receive a $6,000 exemption. This legislation would broaden this exemption to cover all veterans of these uniformed services, providing additional financial relief. The bill also clarifies that military pension and survivor benefit payments are not considered taxable income.
