Overview
The New Jersey Battlefield to Boardroom Act provides tax credits to businesses that hire qualified veterans. Employers can receive a 10% corporate business tax credit and a gross income tax credit for the wages paid to these veterans, up to a maximum of $1,200 per veteran per year. To qualify, companies must hire at least 25% of their new employees as veterans and maintain that level of veteran employment, along with providing veteran support services and actively recruiting veterans. The bill also includes provisions to prevent misuse of the credits and limits the total value of approved credits annually.
