Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to create regulations that allow wastewater utilities to charge residents and businesses a fee for improvements to their wastewater systems. These funds would be used to repair, upgrade, or replace aging infrastructure. The BPU already has similar regulations for water supply utilities, and this bill aims to establish the same process for wastewater utilities. This would help ensure wastewater systems are maintained and improved.
