Overview
This bill provides additional state school funding to New Jersey school districts that have experienced an increase in student enrollment due to the conversion of age-restricted housing developments into non-restricted developments. It establishes a process for distributing ‘converted development assistance aid’ to these districts, calculated based on the difference between projected and previous enrollment, and capped at the actual number of students residing in the converted development. The bill amends existing school funding legislation to accommodate this new source of funding and establish related definitions and calculations.
