Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to create public boat access at certain state-owned lakes. The DEP can achieve this by constructing access points, contracting with private marinas, or a combination of both, all subject to a public bidding process. If construction isn't possible due to funding, the DEP must report to the Governor and Legislature detailing the issue and needed funds. The bill also allocates $1 million from the state’s general fund to support these improvements.
