Overview
This bill requires New Jersey’s local school boards to hire a minimum number of school psychologists in each school district. Specifically, each school must have at least one full-time school psychologist, and the student-to-psychologist ratio should not exceed 500:1. The bill also encourages school districts to seek federal funding to support these hiring efforts. It will take effect in the second full school year following its passage.
