Overview
This bill amends New Jersey law to broaden the definition of ‘burglar’s tools’ to include items like programs and technologies that could be used to gain access to properties through keyless locking mechanisms. It makes it a crime of the fourth degree to manufacture or distribute such tools, or to publish plans for their use, while possession of such tools would be a disorderly persons offense. The goal is to address emerging security threats related to burglar’s tools and keyless entry systems.
