Overview
This bill requires owners of parking structures in New Jersey to have them inspected by a professional engineer at least every five years. The engineer will assess the structure’s integrity to ensure it meets design specifications and safety standards. Owners must submit reports to the Department of Community Affairs, and the department can order closures if inspections are not completed or if the structure fails to meet requirements. The Department will also create rules to implement the bill’s provisions.
