Overview
This bill establishes a three-year pilot program in New Jersey designed to encourage the development of non-lethal weapons for use by law enforcement agencies. The program will provide grants to higher education institutions to conduct research and development in this area. A technical review committee will advise the Attorney General on grant selections and program progress, and the Attorney General will submit a final report to the Governor and Legislature evaluating the program’s effectiveness.
