Overview
This bill increases the penalty for landlords who violate the ‘Truth-in-Renting Act’ in New Jersey. Currently, the penalty is $100, but it will increase to $1,000 for each violation. Additionally, the bill allows tenants who successfully prove a violation to recover reasonable attorney’s fees and other associated court costs.
