Overview
This bill requires sellers of residential property to disclose the presence of any landfill within a half-mile radius of the property to potential buyers. If a seller fails to provide this information, buyers have the right to cancel the contract within five business days. Violations of this law can result in fines for the seller, and buyers may be able to recover associated costs through legal action. The Department of Community Affairs will create rules to implement the law and maintain a database of landfills.
