Overview
This bill allows New Jersey municipalities to create ordinances that require owners of wharves, piers, docks, and bulkheads along navigable waterways to maintain and repair them. The Department of Environmental Protection will establish standards to minimize harm to public health, safety, and the environment. Municipalities can then set penalties for non-compliance, ranging from fines to jail time.
