Overview
This bill would allow small municipalities to receive a portion of the money collected as penalties for violations of fish and game laws. Specifically, when a municipal court in a small town (population under 2,000) handles a case resulting in a penalty, 50% of the recovered funds would go to the municipality and 50% to the Division of Fish and Wildlife. The bill also extends this provision to federal fish and game law violations, with 50% going to the municipality and 50% to the Division of Fish and Wildlife unless federal law prohibits it. It also establishes a process for ensuring that collected funds are properly distributed.
