Bill overview
This bill makes changes to Nevada election rules. It requires county and city clerks to provide the Secretary of State with requested election information within two business days, or explain when they will be able to provide it. The bill also changes qualifications for elected officials, requiring them to be registered to vote in Nevada. It revises the process for filing declarations of candidacy and residency, making these documents public records and requiring attestations under penalty of perjury. Notably, it exempts individuals already holding office as of October 1, 2025, from the new voter registration requirement.
