Bill overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Corrections (DOC) to submit an annual report to the Governor and the Legislature. The report will include detailed information about each state correctional facility, such as occupancy rates, the number of pregnant inmates, incidents of use of force, recidivism rates, reentry services provided, and data on mental health and substance use treatment. The report will also cover overtime paid to correctional officers and the restoration or forfeiture of commutation credits. Data will be categorized both overall and by individual facility, and personally identifiable information about inmates will be excluded.
