Bill overview
This bill clarifies that New Jersey law enforcement agencies can hold gun buyback programs and allow individuals to voluntarily surrender ammunition. Currently, individuals can surrender firearms with proper notice, and this bill extends that same process to ammunition. The bill also authorizes the Attorney General or county prosecutors to establish gun buyback programs that can offer rewards for surrendered firearms and ammunition.
