Bill overview
This bill requires New Jersey restaurants to provide alternative menus upon request for customers with diabetes. The Commissioner of Health, in partnership with the New Jersey Restaurant Association, will create a fact sheet to help restaurants understand dietary needs and prepare these menus. Restaurants will also be required to clearly indicate the availability of these alternative menus on their regular and display menus, and could face a civil penalty for non-compliance.
