This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) to maintain an emergency stockpile of insulin and allows the DOH to provide emergency insulin supplies to patients who have run out of their prescription before refills are available. It also authorizes pharmacists to dispense emergency insulin under certain conditions, and updates existing healthcare coverage requirements to include benefits for diabetes-related equipment and supplies, including emergency insulin.
