Bill overview
This bill requires New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection, as well as counties and municipalities, to regularly check public parks for duckweed, a floating aquatic plant. If duckweed is found, clear warning signs must be posted to alert visitors to its presence and the potential danger of walking on it, which can give the illusion of a solid surface.
