Bill overview
This bill aims to improve the regulation of pharmaceutical services in New Jersey’s long-term care facilities. It requires each facility to have a consultant pharmacist and either a provider pharmacist or a director of pharmaceutical services, both of whom must be licensed New Jersey pharmacists. The bill also establishes an interdisciplinary pharmacy and therapeutics committee to oversee medication management and prevent conflicts of interest. Finally, it mandates the maintenance of detailed records related to committee activities.
