Bill overview
This bill eliminates the State’s ability to fully or partially intervene in school districts under the New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (NJ QSAC). It mandates that any school district currently under state intervention will be returned to full local control within one year of the bill’s enactment. Districts that haven't regained local control will need to hold a special election to determine if they will be classified as Type I or Type II districts, which will then govern them according to specific state regulations.
