Bill overview
This bill modifies how New Jersey charges a uniform gross receipts assessment to ambulatory care facilities. Initially, the assessment rate for hospitals would increase from $10 to $12.50 per adjusted admission starting July 1, 2025, and then to 2.5% of gross receipts starting July 1, 2026, subject to federal approval. Revenues generated from this assessment would be used to fund graduate medical education programs. The bill also includes provisions for auditing facility reports and addressing potential underreporting of gross receipts.
