Bill overview
This bill will allow honorably discharged veterans who have received a placard from the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to be exempt from paying municipal parking meter fees. The exemption applies when the veteran is driving or a passenger in the vehicle, but not if the vehicle is parked for more than 24 hours at a single location. This builds upon existing law that provides similar exemptions for disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients.
