This bill requires the New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education, in collaboration with the New Jersey Presidents’ Council and public colleges, to create a standardized system for course numbering. This common numbering system will apply to general education courses leading to associate or bachelor’s degrees. The goal is to make it easier for students to understand and compare courses offered at different public colleges within the state. The system must be fully operational by September 1st of the following academic year.
