Bill overview
This bill requires New Jersey law enforcement officers, including State troopers and officers in county and municipal police departments, to be issued tourniquets. It also mandates that all basic life support ambulances and mobility assistance vehicles be equipped with tourniquets. Funding for these tourniquets could come from forfeited funds managed by the Attorney General, and the Commissioner of Health is authorized to create guidelines for implementation and enforcement.
