Bill overview
This bill allows the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) to work with other countries to recognize driver’s licenses. Specifically, the Chief Administrator of the MVC can enter into agreements where New Jersey driver’s licenses would be accepted in certain foreign countries, and vice versa, for operating non-commercial vehicles. This would require information sharing and a determination that the foreign country’s licensing standards are similar to New Jersey’s, along with reciprocal privileges being granted.
