Bill overview
This bill requires New Jersey employers to report certain allegations of sexual assault to local law enforcement agencies or county prosecutors within 24 hours of receiving the report. Employers who fail to report could face a $10,000 civil penalty. Additionally, if a county prosecutor receives a report, they must appoint an advocate through the Sexual Assault Response Team to support the accuser and provide information about available services.
