Bill overview
This bill amends the Adult Protective Services Act to strengthen the reporting requirements for suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults in New Jersey. It makes reporting mandatory for all individuals with reasonable cause to believe such abuse is occurring, increasing penalties for failure to report and for interfering with protective services. The bill also establishes a public registry of substantiated cases, while protecting the privacy of vulnerable adults by excluding identifying information.
