Overview
This bill requires all New Jersey public school boards of education to create and implement suicide prevention policies. The New Jersey Department of Education will also develop a model policy to guide boards. These policies must address prevention, intervention, and postvention, and consider the specific needs of at-risk student groups. The policies must be made available to students, parents, and guardians through the school district’s website.
